Revlon Matte Lipstick in In The Red

I have been on a matte frenzy in terms of lipstick lately so I have purchased a number of them. I just love them because they give amazing color payoff without feeling heavy on my lips.
For today, I have Revlon Matte Lipstick in In The Red. I only have few reds in my collection so I'm glad to add this one to my stash. In The Red's color can be described as pure red but with brown/yellow undertones. It's not a bright red and is subtle enough to wear casually. I think I might actually call this my "nude red."
As with my other Revlon matte lipstick, the texture of this is creamy. It was easy to apply and didn't tug on my lips, considering its matte formulation. The color applied very opaque with no shimmers on sight. For it being so pigmented, I love how lightweight it felt on my lips. One swipe was all it took for the color to cover my whole lips.
You can see from above how smooth Revlon's matte lipsticks applies. My lips appear plump, with no visible dryness or flakiness. The opaque pigmentation also covered imperfections completely. The matte formula means that there's little to no feathering, so you can skip the lip liner with this. Staying power is great as well, with up to 6 hours of wear time all through dinner and drinks.
In The Red is by far my favorite everyday red. This doesn't register any orange or blue undertones on my skin (yellow undertones), like some other reds do. I think the yellow-brown in it made the red much softer and subtler. The red color is perfect - neither too orange, too blue, too light nor too dark.
Overall: Revlon Matte Lipstick in In The Red is a mainstay in my makeup bag. I love how the color brightens my face without it being too neon or too bright. It's an understated red that's subtle enough to wear anywhere, anytime. The matte formulation and staying power is amazing as well. It's not drying on the lips and will stay for up to 6 hours even with meals. Another MUST BUY for me.
