ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Trap - A dusty greyed out beige (“greige”). This thin and lightweight formula glides onto the lips smoothly and
leaves SUPER intense pigment-rich colour with a bold, ultra matte look.
It's very long wearing and completely kiss proof! We suggest storing
these babies upright and shaking before application! Retail: $6 | 3.2g - via colourpop.com
Hello again guys. I have been inconsistent with the posting as it is quite laborious to do anything because of the very hot, humid weather - even a little bit of exertion results to buckets of sweat. I have tested out the rest of my Colourpop Ultra Matte goodies and I'll put the up in the following days, mood and weather permitting. *_*
Today's lipstick review Colourpop's Ultra Matte Lip in Trap. I've been in search of a greyish nude lipstick for some time now (they can be hard to find). This one fits the bill.
Trap is described as a "dusty greyed out beige." This is a medium greyish, pinky-brown mauve with cool undertones and a flat matte finish. I like how this looks
very muted, much like a sepia toned photograph. This is a very unique
and pretty color.
Pigmentation: One layer is all you need to get full, opaque
coverage. This liquid lipstick packs a lot of pigment. This applies
glossy but will dry quickly to a matte finish.
Formula/Texture: This particular shade felt more watery (runny) than the previous two (Tulle, Solow) that I tested. The formula is still lightweight and wasn't
too watery nor too thick. The creamy gel-like texture applied smooth and evenly, with no streaks and
no patchiness. This felt
comfortable on the lips but you still need to prep your lips well before
application so you can avoid any dryness and peeling from showing.
Trap felt a bit more drying on the lips. I also noticed that cracks showed up sooner when I was wearing it. Normally, I would see cracking and peeling after six hours in but for this, I observed cracks after five hours or so. I
like how
this really stays relatively matte and dry even during and after eating or
drinking. Once the lipstick dries, it's essentially transfer-proof.
Wear time is above average with the color looking good as new after eight hours.
The color stayed on my lips the whole
day and still looked decent even before I have to remove it using micellar water.
Pros:
- Unique shade
- Opaque and very pigmented
- Smooth, even texture
- Lightweight formula
- Transfer-proof
- Feels very comfortable (non-drying) on lips
- Long-wearing
- No discernible smell
- Affordable
Cons:
- None
