I have been in search of a good MLBB (My Lips But Better) lipstick and decided to try MAC Velvet Teddy. This color is described as a "deep-tone beige" lipstick; this is in matte finish (source). The swatch on my arms below shows a peachy-brown color which registered a lighter tone compared to the deep-brown color in the tube .
Velvet Teddy is very pigmented, which can be expected cause it's a matte formulation. What I love about MAC's matte lipsticks are that they are not too drying compared to mattes from other brands.

This applies smoothly without tugging. The matte formula kicks in after a few minutes of application as the lipstick dries.

Nudes are a personal thing as it would greatly depend on your skin color, undertones and lip pigmentation. It can be tricky choosing one for you, especially if you only have pictures to compare. Before purchasing this, I was looking online for swatches and I've seen that this color would look different on lots of people - pale pink to deeper brown on various skintones.

On my lips, this is barely noticeable and looks very natural. Doesn't really come off that I have lipstick on right? I'm happy that this did not turn out to be too dark on me. Most brown-toned lipsticks look horrible on my lips. Some of them made me look like a fresh "undead" - definitely not very pretty. This one just lends a bit of color and covers up those imperfections without being too obvious.

The color was opaque enough that it covers lip imperfections very well. I also love the perfect balance of pink-peach-brown that this pulls off. To put this lipstick on a higher level, this would be great paired with a very strong eye makeup and smokies. I would imagine that Velvet Teddy would also suit a whole range of skintones - it can come out more pink on paler skins and more dark peach-brown on darker skins.
Excuse my "just woken up" face. I did not have the energy to put on a full face makeup. Though, I think the bare face suits this MLBB post. :) I will have more looks as I continue to wear this great nude lippie in the days to come.

Overall: MAC Velvet Teddy would be a great everyday understated lippie. The matte formulation did not result to very horrible flakiness. An excellent color to wear when you just want to look effortlessly put together and pretty. A definite HG, MUST BUY for me.
