FOTD: Minimal Makeup Look
2:54 PM
This would be my first FOTD (Face of the Day). I'm kind of hesitant to post much selfies but I guess that's the bane of blogging about beauty. Most of the time, you have to test the products on yourself and be ready for some personal humiliation. :) I do enjoy sharing my beauty adventures with you all so the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
It's been raining nonstop due to the typhoon which means going outside is limited to important errands. Rainy days turn me into a sloth and this certainly applies to my makeup. Minimal is the name of the game when you have to succumb yourself and your makeup to the mercy of the natural elements.
Face:
Flawless' Skin Protect Gel -: for sun protection which is still essential even if there is no sun in sight. Harmful UV rays are present everywhere so a good sunscreen is a must everyday. This is non-greasy and perfect for my oily skin.
BRTC AQUA Rush Water Drop BB Cream - for base/foundation, BB creams are my go to. This bb cream was a part of a set I got from sasa.com for about $32.
Laura Mercier's Undercover Pot (UC-3) - This is my HG concealer, no other concealer compares. I've hit the pan on this after more than a year of use. I don't have many blemishes to cover so the right side has still a decent amount left while the left side which I use under my eyes is completely gone. This is on my shopping list for July.
MAC Studio Fix Powder plus Foundation (NC 25) - Basically, a great all-rounder for the face. Apply as a finishing powder to set everything into place and combat oiliness.
Eyes:
Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Trio in Almond Truffles - a no nonsense color, perfect for everyday wear. My favorite color is the dark taupe/gray in the middle, which explains why I've hit the pan on that. This provides just enough color for definition in the eyes.
IN2IT Supreme Waterproof Eyeliner (All Black) - Very pigmented, essentially smudge- and water-proof. Stays on my lids for the whole day without causing the dreaded "panda eyes."
Cheeks:
Revlon Golden Affair Sculpting Blush in Merlot at Midnight - Whew, that's a mouthful. This is essentially unused as I was initially put off by how dark it was. This stayed on the bottom of my makeup box for months but I've recently unearthed this and decided to give it a second chance. I just applied lightly under my cheekbones to create some dimension and contour. I may be using this blush more often starting now.
NARS Multiple Duo in Orgasm/South Beach - Another HG blush for me. Apply Orgasm on the apples of my cheeks for highlight and color. South Beach is applied over the sculpting blush to add more definition.
Lips:
MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy - I am all over this lipstick nowadays. This is the perfect nude for me and I feel very pretty when I wear it. Discovering this also makes me want to buy more nudes (Bad for my wallet).
Final Look:
