My previous posts indicate that I have been in the hunt for the perfect nude lipstick for a while now. I have found some really great ones lately after some minor-ly major mishaps in the beginning.
While Velvet Teddy would be my perfect nude lipstick in a perfect world, it can be quite expensive. One tube of MAC Lipstick with 3 grams on it costs $16. Here in the Philippines, it can cost up to Php 1000. Ouchie, ouchie. That would certainly create a huge dent in your pocketses for such a small, albeit very pretty my precious.

Revlon's Matte Lipstick in Mauve It Over would be the perfect dupe for Velvet Teddy. These two lippies look so similar they can be called identical twins. Both have the same matte, non-drying texture. Both also apply smooth and creamy on the lips - no chapping, no flakiness and no patches.
Mauve It Over may be a tiny bit more peachy, while Velvet Teddy is browner and a bit more matte. But when swatched on my lips, they are basically identical, nearly indistinguishable from each other.

Who wins the battle of the nudes, MAC Velvet Teddy vs Revlon Mauve It Over?
Verdict: Tie. Revlon lipsticks retail at least Php 380 in malls but there are online sellers who offer them for much less. I got mine for only Php 250, a quarter of the cost of MAC's. So if you are on the lookout for a great nude lipstick, do try either of these two. Or like me, get both. You wouldn't be disappointed.
