NYX Matte Lipsticks are highly pigmented, richly formulated and long-wearing. The formula glides on smoothly and stays put with a non-drying matte finish. (

NYX Matte Lipstick in Pale Pink (MLS04) |
NYX Matte Lipstick in Pale Pink (MLS04) is described as a light blue-toned pink. This is my first NYX Matte Lipstick as I tend to gravitate towards their NYX's Soft Matte lippies. The reason I got this was I wanted to try out a very pale pink lipstick and see how that looks on me.

This lipstick is definitely matte and very opaque. Application was somewhat tricky as it resulted in unflattering dry patches on my lips. Overall, I read good reviews on NYX's matte lipsticks but Pale Pink seems to fail on me. I guess the lighter colors applies not as beautiful and smooth than the dark rich colors.

Above: NYX Matte Lipstick in Pale Pink Swatches. Note how patchy the lipstick applies on the lips. The color settled on lines and emphasized imperfections on my lips.

Also, I didn't find the color to be too flattering on me. I feel like I was channeling Nicki Minaj, and not in a good way. Instead of brightening up my complexion, I feel that my skin looked
dull and lifeless with this on. Pale pink maybe too pink and blue-toned
for my NC 25, yellow undertoned skin.

Nicki Minaj: I canNOT get on board with this...! |
This just looks totally un-natural. It looks like I'm wearing a white concealer on my lips and it is NOT cute. I have to accept that I can't totally rock pale pink lips. I look like a dead barbie doll.

Maybe I can salvage the lipstick if I wear a nude lipgloss on top. That way, the patchiness would be covered up and the cool undertones can be warmed up a bit.
Overall:
NYX Matte Lipstick in Pale Pink turned out to be a dud for me - patchy application, too drying on the lips and totally wrong and too pale color for my NC 25 skin.
