I was first wary of the color because I always pictured "mauve" as
having purple, lilac or violet tones. Revlon's Matte Lipstick in Mauve It Over (003) however is actually kind of a neutral taupe. Seriously, are the Revlon people color-blind? ^_^

The actual color can be described as a pink-peach brown with warm undertones. It looks darker in the tube than on your skin or swatched.
I didn't expect to like this color but I really do. This is a MLBB shade with a good balance between peach-pink-brown. The color is a shade or two lighter than my lips and makes a perfect neutral on me. This pulls a bit of peach on me but it's balanced by the brown and pink that it looks so natural.
This color is very wearable. Mauve It Over also gave very good payoff. Considering this is a light and nude shade, you actually get good pigmentation from it. This peachy-pink nude lipstick would definitely suite light to medium skin tones with yellow undertones.
Mauve It Over applied smooth and creamy on the lips without flakiness.
The finish is semi-matte and not too drying. Of course, as with all
mattes, lip preparation is important before application to avoid
patchiness. This is my first dabble with Revlon's Matte Lipsticks and I'm glad I tried this out. This lipstick gives you a very pretty, low maintenance look, perfect for everyday. Wear time is good with up to 4-6 hours without re-applying.
Overall: Revlon Matte Lipstick in Mauve It Over applies smooth and evenly with no tugging on the lips. It has a velvety texture that doesn't settle on lines or emphasizes lip imperfections and flakiness. The matte formula is not particularly drying and gave great color payoff without it feeling heavy on the lips. A definite Must Buy and potential HG nude lipstick for me.

PS: Mauve It Over looks very close to MAC's Velvet Teddy. I think they can be twins. I will be doing a comparison post on them so stay tuned!
