Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in India Intrigue 001 - "Drenches lips in glossy wet color. Ultra-light creamy lipstain with
Vitamin E and Aloe. Eighty-eight percent of women felt lips were
instantly moisturized without stickines." via revlon.com
Happy Monday everyone. I hope the rest of you had a better weekend than me. I was on a self-imposed house arrest due to the very bad weather - lots of rain, flooding on the streets and the occasional goosebump-inducing thunder.
To keep the boredom away, I've caught up on some blogging. Taking decent pictures has been a challenge but I managed to produce some okay ones so for today, I now have another lipstick review for you all.
India Intrigue (001) is a medium pinky purple magenta with cool undertones. I think this shade would flatter most skin tones. This color has a face brightening effect on me. Upon application, it looked bright, shiny and glossy but after ten minutes or so, the shade turned a deeper color with less shine. I detected gold shimmers on the product but it's unnoticeable unless you really look.
The formula and texture of this "lipstick" is pretty much the same as the Milan Moment shade I've reviewed previously. I'm really surprised at how lightweight and non-sticky this feels on my lips. It's almost a welcome conundrum for me. Every time I put on the product on my lips, I expect that familiar tacky, (lipgloss) feel and I get none of that.
This darker shade delivers great pigmentation. A single layer will give you opaque coverage. I don't think you can build up the color though, so adding more would only result to goopiness - of which I don't recommend. Also good to note is that I found this easier to apply - even, smooth and no patches.
Unlike the much lighter Milan Moment shade, India Intrigue left a decent purple-pink stain (see photo above). After a few minutes of settling down on the lips, you're pretty much good to go. The color lasted for up to six hours, maybe even eight with the stain left on your lips. This shade definitely delivered on the long staying power promise.
Pros:
- Lightweight texture
- Comfortable, slightly moisturizing formula
- Great pigmentation
- Non-ubiquitous smell
- Leaves a decent slight stain
- Easier to apply (vs lighter shade)
- Lasts almost whole day
Cons:
- A bit pricey (Php 625)
