Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color in Sandstorm 913C - "This is basically our Magnum Opus of lipstick—it’s the one thing we absolutely MUST put on when we’ve got a cocktail party or black tie event. This 4-hour, longwearing lip color leaves a semi-matte cream finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn’t cake, feather, or bleed." - via wetnwildbeauty.com
Hello again! Did you all enjoy the three-day weekend? I feel like the days went by so fast but I did manage to sneak in some R&R. I am now feeling energized and ready to face another week. I am also looking forward to another beach trip with friends in a couple of weeks. Yey!
I did a haul post of three Wet n Wild lipsticks some weeks back and I'll be reviewing them over the course of the week. I have several of these Megalast lippies and there are still another 2 or 3 more shades that I want to try out.
Sandstorm 913C is a medium nude-brown with warm undertones. The shade leans more brown with red-orange undertones not unlike the color of rust or maybe terracotta. This looks dark out of the tube but I know from experience that this sort of shades actually look nude-y when applied on my lips. I
think this can be a darker version of my all time favorite nude Velvet
Teddy but I haven't really swatched this one next to it so I couldn't confirm.
This shade has a 90's vibe with it, back when everyone was wearing dark brown and vampy lipsticks. I can see this as a great alternative for women who would like to venture out of the nude territory but don't necessary want to take too much risk. While I do like the color, I have some hesitation as to wearing this as an everyday lipstick as it creates too much of a contrast against my skin. Also, I feel like the warm, brown undertones pulls out the yellow on my complexion and have a tendency to make me look pale and sickly.
As always, I have no complaints with the lipstick's formula and texture.
It's smooth and creamy and glided across my lips with no problems.
While the finish isn't really truly matte, I like that it doesn't feel
heavy and waxy on. It's really comfortable to wear, without that sticky,
icky feeling.
For such an affordable price, you get awesome pigmentation. You only need a single swipe and your lips would be covered. Application is a breeze and no-brainer. Wet n Wild promises a 4-hour wear and it does deliver on that. Sandstorm actually lasted more than 4 hours on me, requiring only a slight pat after a light meal and some drinks.
