ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Solow - A neutral nude pink. This thin and lightweight formula glides onto the lips smoothly and
leaves SUPER intense pigment-rich colour with a bold, ultra matte look.
It's very long wearing and completely kiss proof! We suggest storing
these babies upright and shaking before application! Retail: $6 | 3.2g - via colourpop.com
Hey guys. We are finally half way through the week. I hope you are doing well so far. I am slowly going through my Colourpop lip stash, expect reviews through through this week as well as the next. For today, I deviate from all the brown / vampy lips and feature a more summery lipstick, Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Solow.
Solow is described as a "neutral nude pink." This is a medium true pink with warm undertones and a matte finish. The shade looks darker on the tube than on my lips as I think my yellow undertones makes it lighter and a bit neon-y than it should be. I still like the color though, as it is still a neutral pink on me and looks very pretty on. The color reminds me MAC Please Me (will update with swatch comparisons below).
Pigmentation: One layer is all you need to get full, opaque coverage. This liquid lipstick packs a lot of pigment. This applies glossy but will dry quickly to a matte finish.
Formula/Texture: This have a light, gel/cream texture which wasn't
watery nor too thick. It applied smooth and evenly, with no streaks and no patchiness. This felt fairly
comfortable on the lips. You do need to prep your lips well before application so you can avoid any dryness. I feel like Solow is slightly less drying compared to Tulle and was more comfortable on the lips.
I did not notice any transfer or cracking even after several hours (up
to 6 hours). Once the lipstick dries, it's essentially transfer-proof. I
like how
this really stays relatively matte and dry even after eating or
drinking. I did not experience any goopy, sticky feeling
as my lips get wet unlike other liquid lipsticks I've tried in the
past.
Wear time is great with the color looking good as new after eight hours. I
observed minimal patches after I ate some fries and fried chicken but I
was really surprised how well it held up and how comfortable it was
still even without any touch ups. The color stayed on my lips the whole day and still looked decent at the end of the day. It only came off after I removed it using a cleansing water.
Pros:
- Flattering shade
- Opaque and highly pigmented
- Smooth, even texture
- Lightweight formula
- Transfer-proof
- Feels very comfortable (non-drying) on lips
- Long-wearing
- No discernible smell
- Affordable
Cons:
- None
