Video: MeNow Long Lasting Lipgloss in #22
Hey there guys. I'm glad to be posting quite regularly now and hope to continue with this this. Still have a lot lined up for reviews, and maybe even have some videos next week. I have another MeNow Lipgloss which I bought together with the one (#30) I reviewed last week. For today, I have shade #22.
I describe this shade as a deep berry burgundy purple. This has a warmer undertone ans dries matte, with no shimmers. As I have said in my earlier review, despite being labeled as such, this is technically not lip gloss as it lacks any shine and does not have a "glossy" finish.
The pigmentation of this one is on point. It's very opaque with only one layer and is not streaky at all. I find that the drying time for this shade (#22) is longer vs shade #30. Even after maybe fifteen minutes, I can still feel some stickiness and when I patted it with my fingers, some of the color transferred (Hence, the stain in my fingers, above image).
So I let it dry for another ten minutes or so. After that, the stickiness was lessened (still have some stickiness) and there was no more color transfer. This feels on the tackier side while drying but once it does, it feels rather lightweight and comfortable on the lips.
I like the formula of this liquid lipstick as it applies smoothly and evenly. It also does not emphasize patches and doesn't cling to the dry bits of the lips. It's important for this to apply in thin layers and let each layer dry a bit before applying more. This way, you get a smoother look and don't over apply which can cause clumps. Also, make sure that you keep your lips parted while drying.
This darker color has better staying power compared to the lighter #30. This stayed on my lips the whole day (up to 8 hours). It fade a little bit but it still looked okay after those hours. As with most liquid lipstick, this will break down with oils, so if you eat something oily you can expect it to come off. The fade out doesn't look patchy though and will still look okay with a few pats to keep the colors decent. You have to remove this completely before reapplying, otherwise it would cause flakiness.
Pros:
- Rich, beautiful shade perfect for fall
- Smooth and even texture
- Lightweight, comfortable formula
- Smudge- and water- proof
- Decent packaging
- Super long-lasting
- Super cheap
Cons:
- Applicator is awkward to use
- Long drying time
- Slightly drying
- Flakes if reapplied
- Chemical smell (fades after a few minutes)
