656 Clay Crush can be described as a medium peachy brown nude with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. This shade has enough brown, peach and rose tones in it so it doesn't wash me out and adds brightness in my complexion. The color is very similar to MAC Velvet Teddy - Clay Crush is peachy brown, Velvet Teddy is a rosey brown (see comparison swatches below).

Clay Crush has good color payoff giving almost opaque coverage with a single swipe. I also needed a couple of layers to achieve full pigmentation.

Application is even with a velvety consistency. The lipstick smoothly glided across my lips and has a creamy and satiny texture. I didn't notice any settling along the lip lines nor any patches.

This also has the same lightweight formula that felt very comfortable on the lips. Despite it being matte, I didn't feel like it sucked out all the moisture of my lips. Wear time is above average, up to five hours before the color faded a bit. This was neither moisturizing nor drying but of course, you should prep your lips before applying any matte lipstick.

I did a quick comparison swatch with this lipstick vs some similar shades from MAC. Velvet Teddy looks darker with more rosey brown tones while Kinda Sexy looks pinker and less peachy.

Clay Crush almost looks more orange compared to the two lipsticks but the terracotta tone is subtle and doesn't really translate on the lips. For everyday wear, I actually like to use Clay Crush over Velvet Teddy and Kinda Sexy. It feels more comfortable on the lips and applies smoothly. Hopefully, I can do another dupe/comparison posts among these lipsticks soon.
