Maybelline Inti-Matte Nudes Lipstick in Pretty Please

Hi there. Hope you are all enjoying the weekend. It has been raining lately and the weather has been rather gloomy so I am now busting out some of my darker-hued lipsticks to match the season. Also, I have discovered several more darker hued lipsticks in my stash so I'll be featuring them for the next few days.

For now, I have Maybelline Inti-Matte Nudes lipstcik in the shade Pretty Please (MNU 15). Maybelline's Inti-Matte line includes the lipsticks from both their Powder Matte and Creamy Matte collection, which initially confused me a bit because the tube of this lipstick say "The Creamy Mattes."

Pretty Please (MNU 15) can be described as a deep rich burgundy red with blue undertones and a semi-matte finish. The shade is similar to Maybelline's earlier-released Burgundy Blush from the same Creamy Matte lineup. Pretty Please is lighter, with more red on it while Burgundy Blush leans more brown. Since it is less vampy, this shade is much more wearable.

Swatch: Maybelline Inti-Matte Nudes Lipstick in Pretty Please

Pigmentation is superb, with full, opaque coverage with just a single swipe of the lipstick. The color is buildable but because this is already very pigmented, you won't really tell the difference after maybe three layers. It glides smoothly and evenly, without noticeable patchiness.

On lips: Maybelline Inti-Matte Nudes Lipstick in Pretty Please

The formula feels lightweight and creamy so it felt comfortable on the lips. Due to the creaminess of the lipstick, the finish is more on satiny rather than a true matte. When first applied, you can see some shininess, but this wore off over time and I was left with a more matte look after a few hours of wear. There was some minimal transfer of color, but this lipstick is to some extent somewhat budge-proof.

The color stayed on for up to six hours, and then faded evenly. It didn't settle on any lip lines. I feel like this was not as drying as most matte lipsticks, but you do still need to apply a balm if you have dry lips. Because this is a darker shade and has a matte formula, prepping the lips is also must so you can get a smooth and even application.
