Hello everyone. Today's product review features the cult favorite The Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence from Korean brand Missha. This essence is said to be a dupe for the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence which costs at least 5x as much.  I bought this bottle about a year ago, used it half of the time as I was testing other products, and now I am finishing this up before this it expires in a few months. I have maybe 30ml left of it so it would be good for 2-3 weeks daily use.

I think this is the third version of Missha's ever popular Time Revolution essence. The first one was the original The First Treatment Essence, then they reformulated it with the next Intensive version, the third reformulation is the Intensive Moist (which I am reviewing). Missha have also released the latest one, Rx Pro Ferment, last year.

The difference between the Intensive and Intensive Moist is that the 3rd version is more suited for normal, dry skin. It has higher fermented yeast content (80% vs 90%) from Himalayan purple barley extracted through Ion fermentation process.

Benefits:
- Transforms skin at the first step of skin care with its moisture boosting effect which replenishes from the inner skin
- Newly upgraded formula contains over 90% fermented yeast extract from Himalayan purple barley to effectively plump skin, refine texture, and reduce pigmentation
- Ion fermentation process ensures rapid absorption of moisture
- Niacinamide brightens and clarifies skin tone
- Adenosine energizes skin for more younger-looking skin

How to Use:
1. Use at the first step in your daily skincare routine after cleansing
2. Moisten a cotton pad with a sufficient amount and gently wipe over face to remove any makeup residue.
3. Press palms to your face to enhance absorption of the remaining essence.

For more intensive care, moisten several cotton pads or sheets with an appropriate amount of essence and use as a DIY sheet mask.

Packaging: This comes in a semi-opaque frosted glass bottle with a dropper dispenser and a silver chrome screw top lid. The bottle is quite heavy, so it won't be ideal to lug around. I may also have dropped this one at least once, though not from a significant height so it didn't break.

Application: As mentioned from Missha's website, it is recommended to use right after cleansing so your skin is ready to absorb the next steps in your skincare. Personally, I just use my hands to gently pat the product on my skin, that way I don't waste any of it. You can also use this as a mask pack by using thin cotton pads and applying on your skin as you would a mask sheet.

With the cult status and price point, I expected great things from Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence. The reformulated Intensive Moist version may not be specifically targeted for me as I have oily/combination skin. However, the fermented yeast extract and it's higher concentration in this essence has swayed me into buying this. Fermented ingredients are said to be packed with nutrients that help give skin a youthful appearance so in that regard, I expected this one to deliver.

In a way, this essence has lived up to its promises. After using it for more than a month, I have noticed slight improvements in my skin texture and appearance. My skin looks smoother and even toned and I see less (very) fine lines. The difference is not very drastic and you will have to be persistent in using this essence to see significant results but I did see them.

After every use, my skin looks instantly refreshed and radiant and on days that I don't, I feel and see the difference. My favorite way to use this is as a DIY mask pack. I dispense the essence in cotton pads and apply on my face like a mask sheet. With this method, I feel that my skin really absorbs the product and I get its full benefits. The essence is nourishing and moisturizing enough that I sometimes skip my regular cream moisturizer. I always like how bright my skin looks and how soft it feels after every application.

Did Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence deliver? Yes, and maybe no. This product did deliver a lot of things: hydration and moisturization, improved skin texture and pigmentation, and skin brightening. However, when used on its own, it took consistent and religious use in order for me to see significant results. I do like it and glad that I tried this but I feel that I can find more effective (and less pricey) products than this. I would recommend this essence for people with dry skin as it does give extra hydration and moisturization.

Pros:
- Hydrating formula
- Increased fermented (active) ingredients
- Smooths and evens out skin tone
- Improves skin texture and appearance
- Brightens and tones
- Lightweight and absorbs quickly
- No scent

Cons:
- Pricey
- Takes a while to see results
