MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Devoted to Chili - "Matte, totally reinvented. Delivering a blur of soft-focus colour, this weightless moisture-matte lipstick was developed to replicate a backstage technique: blending out edges of matte lipstick for a hazy effect. Its groundbreaking formula contains moisture-coated powder pigments that condition and hydrate lips. The result is the zero-shine look of a matte lipstick with the cushiony, lightweight feel of a balm. Fall for this soft-touch, misty matte kiss of colour." Net Wt. 3g, 0.1 US oz | $21.00 via

MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Devoted to Chili |
Hello everyone. Can you believe it's already September? I feel like the months went by on a blur and I can't remember what I did for the past months of quarantine. It was March, I blinked and then it's already September?!
To celebrate/commemorate the onset of "ber" months which is unofficially the start of Christmas season here in the Philippines, I finally have a makeup review. Yay! Today, I got the
MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in the shade
Devoted to Chili. I was stopping myself from buying anymore lipstick but I finally caved last month and got this lipstick as part of my
National Lipstick Day haul from Lazada.
Features:
- Brownish orange-red
- Soft-focus matte finish
- Provides immediate and long-term hydration
- Comfortable formula
- Blurs lines and smooths lips
- Lightweight

The
MAC Powder Kiss line comes in same black tube but instead of being shiny, it's a velvety matte black. The lipstick smells a more artificial sweet vanilla.
Devoted to Chili is described as a "warm brick red." It is a medium red-orange with warm undertones and a satin-matte finish. The shade leans orange-red on me
and pulls out my yellow undertones. Still, I think it looks flattering on me and can brighten up my face without it being too loud. The
soft-focus color helps it not look too bold nor garish. I can see Devoted to Chili flattering on most skin tones. For those afraid to wear a full-on red, this shade would be a good option for a low-key everyday red.

Swatch: MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Devoted to Chili |
This is my first try on
MAC's Powder Kiss range and I am liking it so
far. Similar to MAC's matte lipstick formula, this lipstick is richly
pigmented. You don't get a full opaque coverage with a single swipe.
However, the color is very buildable and I can get full pigment with
two-three swipes.
One thing I like about this lipstick and
the powder kiss line in general is the soft-focus, blendable and
buildable pigment. It is much more versatile and just looks natural on.
It can easily be
blotted on as a stain, used as a gradient lip or built up to full-color
intensity.

On lips: MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Devoted to Chili |
Devoted to Chili applied smoothly and
glided on easily across my lips. The non-drying formula feels very
lightweight and velvety on the lips that I almost don't feel that I am
wearing lipstick. It feels very
soft and balmy and emollient yet doesn't look shiny and was non-sticky.

The
color didn't settle on my lip lines nor emphasize any dry patches.
Because of the soft-matte finish, this isn't transfer-proof. However,
wear time is above average with up to four
hours through a light meal and a drink. The pigment doesn't bleed nor
feather, but it will smudge if rubbed. The color fade evenly and leaves a
nice pink stain on the lips.

FOTD: MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Devoted to Chili |
I am impressed with MAC's new powder kiss formula that I will be on the lookout to get more shades. With this, I get the pigmentation that I like without it feeling heavy on the lips. It wears comfortably throughout the day and fades beautifully. I also love the soft-focus finish so it doesn't emphasize lip lines and imperfections. It makes my lips look supple and healthy. MAC really delivered on all its promises with this lipstick.
Pros:
- Flattering shade
- Soft-focus effect
- Emollient, smooth texture
- Lightweight and non-greasy
- Rich pigmentation
- Non-drying formula
- Blendable color
- Relatively long-wearing
Cons:
- None
