MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Mull It Over | Review
2:24 PMMAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Mull It Over - ""Matte, totally reinvented. Delivering a blur of soft-focus colour, this weightless moisture-matte lipstick was developed to replicate a backstage technique: blending out edges of matte lipstick for a hazy effect. Its groundbreaking formula contains moisture-coated powder pigments that condition and hydrate lips. The result is the zero-shine look of a matte lipstick with the cushiony, lightweight feel of a balm. Fall for this soft-touch, misty matte kiss of colour." MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Mull It Over |
Hi everyone. Let me start the week with a lipstick (!) review. Today, I have MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Mull It Over which I have purchased months ago (see: Sneak Peek). I have already reviewed the other Powder Kiss shade (Devoted to Chili) that I bought.
Features:
- Dirty Peach shade
- Soft-focus matte finish
- Provides immediate and long-term hydration
- Comfortable formula
- Blurs lines and smooths lips
- Lightweight

As stated, the MAC Powder Kiss
line comes in same classic MAC black tube but instead of being shiny, it's a
velvety matte black. The lipstick itself has a more pronounced artificial sweet
vanilla smell.
Mull It Over is
described as a "dirty peach." It is a medium rosy coral peach with warm undertones and a satin-matte finish. The shade pulls peachy on me and looks quite flattering against my yellow skin tone. The color reminds me of a softer but darker Kinda Sexy.
The muted, soft-focus finish helps it look very natural and add a dreamy quality to a look. I can see Mull It Over flattering on most skin tones, but especially on fair-light and light-medium complexions. This shade is a good option for a low-key effortless everyday nude lip.
Swatch: MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Mull It Over |
This lipstick is richly pigmented and a semi-opaque coverage with a single swipe. The color is buildable and with two or three swipes, you can get full pigmentation. For me, the blendable and buildable Powder Kiss formula is much more versatile and just looks natural on. It can easily be blotted on as a stain, used as a gradient lip or built up to full-color intensity.

Mull It Over applied smoothly and glided on easily across my lips. The formula feels very lightweight and velvety on the lips. It is non-drying and feels comfortable that I almost don't feel nor noticeit. The lipstick is soft and balmy, non-sticky and non-shiny.
FOTD: MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Mull It Over |
Application is fairly even and smooth without tugging. I noticed some color settling along my lip lines but not enough that it looks uneven. Also, I noticed that some lipstick did cling on dry patches and imperfections on my lips tend to be emphasized more as compared to Devoted to Chili. These are noticeable only when you look close.
Wear time is average with up to three-four
hours through a very light meal. The pigment doesn't bleed nor
feather, but it will smudge if rubbed. Because of the formula, you can also expect transfer. The color didn't leave any stain and faded evenly.
On lips and cheeks: MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Mull It Over |
I really like MAC's new powder kiss formula that I will be on the
lookout to get more shades. With this newer formula, I get the pigmentation that I
like without it feeling heavy and bothersome on the lips. It wears comfortably
throughout the day and fades beautifully. I also love the muted and soft-focus
finish as it doesn't emphasize lip lines and imperfections too much. It makes my
lips look supple and healthy. MAC really delivered on all its promises
with this lipstick. Personally, I would prefer MAC's Powder Kiss formulation their trusty Mattes.
Pros:
- Flattering nude shade
- Soft-focus effect
- Emollient, smooth texture
- Lightweight and non-greasy
- Rich pigmentation
- Non-drying formula
- Blendable color
- Versatile use
Cons:
- Slight settling along lip lines
