Hello there. To start off July and the second half of 2021, let's continue with the reviews of the Wondolly lipsticks. Today's shade is 01 Matilda. 01 Matilda is described as "a bold classic red, perfect for any occasion." This lipstick is a blue-based medium-deep true red with a semi-matte finish. This shade looks rich and lush and instantly brightens the face. It can be flattering on almost all skin tones.

Matilda is a good dupe for MAC Ruby Woo but if I have to nitpick, I would think that this is slightly deeper and has pinker tones. Comparing among MAC Ruby Woo and MAC Russian Red, Matilda's color sits right in between. It is also the most creamy and most moisturizing of the three.

On lips: WONDOLLY Vivid Velvet Lips in 01 Matilda

Unlike the first two Wondolly lipsticks that I have reviewed, this shade feels comfortable on the lips. I don't get the emollient, almost-sticky feel that I have previously observed. This has a lightweight texture with full, opaque pigmentation. You get great coverage with just a single layer. This lipstick has an almost satiny formula which is more forgiving on the lips. It didn't emphasize flakiness nor clung on dry patches.

01 Matilda applied smoothly and evenly, with no dragging and tugging.  Because of the opaque pigmentation and full coverage, this lipstick wore very well. It didn't settle on lines nor bleed out. It felt lightweight and relatively comfortable. The color lasted up to six hours, fading evenly and leaving a hint of light pink stain. My lips didn't feel dry after I removed this lipstick.

Overall, I like this lipstick and would consider 01 Matilda as a more affordable dupe for Ruby Woo. I guess I just personally gravitate toward these kind of blue-based red. This lipstick is a classic red color which is flattering on almost everybody. You can never go wrong wearing this. WONDOLLY Vivid Velvet Lips in 01 Matilda applied effortlessly and felt comfortable and lightweight. It is also long-wearing and non-drying on the lips.
