Hello there everyone. Let's have a good end to August and welcome the -ber months with a few product reviews from Fresh Skinlab. This local brand features products that are Made in Korea, to compete with all the Kbeauty that has been popular in the country lately.
First up on the review list is the Fresh Skinlab Tomato Glass Skin Water Drop Cream. I picked up this from my local Watson's when it was on sale a few months back. I have been using this every now and then, though not as regular as I would have liked. Read on to know why. *_*

Checking into their official website, I think they might have repackaged this cream as "Fresh Skinlab Tomato Glass Skin Hyaluronic Water Drop Cream with Vitamin C." Also, they have gotten rid of the SPF 30 label on the tube. I guess the SPF claim can't be substantiated so they didn't include it in the new packaging. I have checked the ingredients and they are basically still the same, just with the newer one having water first in the list. Remember, this review will be with the prior version.

Fresh Skinlab Tomato Glass Skin Water Drop Cream comes in an orange, plastic tube packaging with a twist-off closure. You dispense the product by squeezing the tube so you can also easily control the amount you're getting by squeezing just enough to what you actually need. Additionally, the plastic tube is light and convenient to bring on travel.
As described, this Water Drop Cream comes out as a gel-like cream and then transforms into a watery essence/liquid as you massage it into the skin. The lightweight, watery formula is easily and readily absorbed and feels soothing and refreshing. It is very cooling when applied to the skin, especially on hot and humid days.
For my oily-combination skin, I find that I need a substantial amount for me to feel the moisturizing and nourishing effect. This may be because of the lightweight (thin) and watery formula. Those with dry skin will most likely find this not moisturizing enough. On the upside, I didn't feel any oiliness or greasiness, in fact, it basically applies and absorbs like water. Additionally, this didn't pile up so it is great to use under makeup or sunscreen.
This cream gives an instant revitalizing effect. While it did brighten my overall complexion, I didn't see the dewy or "glassy" effect it has promised. One major con for me is the strong artificial fragrance. As a compromise (and not waste this product), I just apply this on areas where I can't smell the strong scent, i.e. hands, arms, knees, and legs. I haven't used this on my face long enough to see any anti-aging effect.
Fresh Skinlab Tomato Glass Skin Water Drop Cream |
Overall, Fresh Skinlab Tomato Glass Skin Water Drop Cream is a good product for those looking for a lightweight and fast-absorbing essence. The gel-like cream transforms into a watery formula and feels soothing and refreshing. It brightens up the complexion but doesn't provide a lot of moisture or nourishment, especially for those with dry skin. While this cream has a lot going for it especially for its price; the strong, artificial fragrance is a major deal-breaker for me.
Pros:
- Lightweight and fast-absorbing formula
- Gel-like, non-greasy/non-oily texture
- Soothes and refreshes skin
- Brightens complexion
- Does not disturb makeup o sunscreen
- Free of dye, alcohol, parabens, minerals
- Affordable
Cons:
- No dewy effect
- Very strong fragrance
